Your ceremony can be held in the open air or in the château’s 11th century Lord’s chapel. Or, you can get married in the church in the village, and afterward lead the wedding party up to the castle. It is possible to have an exterior event or book the chateau's inner spaces for your guests as well.
Receptions held on the great lawn in front of the moat offer a superb view of the castle. On the other side of the drawbridge, within fortified walls, an open-air courtyard can accommodate an aperitif or buffet for 80 or a sit-down dinner for up to 60 guests.
Throughout the château, you can set up music, food, and bar stations. For intimate dinner parties, guests will be invited to sit down in the Lord’s dining room for a fantasy come true. Yes, there are thrones from the 15th-century table in front of the enormous fireplace. Yes, there are crowns for the couple on the thrones to wear and a massive medieval chandelier and armor in the corner. This room can accommodate up to 40 people for a buffet, and 30 for a formal dinner. In 2023 the front lawn can accommodate 200 guests for a reception or an aperitif.
The village boasts beautiful pastoral landscapes along the Aveyron river with wonderful views of the château from its historic bridge, just across from a Michelin-starred restaurant. The château is primarily a venue only, and with the exception of the tower suite, accommodations for guests are available at many gites and B&B's in the village.
The Château is a historic landmark normally open to the public. More than 20,000 visitors every season enjoy a self-guided tour throughout the fortress and discover the history, architecture, and exhibition spaces of contemporary art within it. People are often overwhelmed because they feel so much life within the ancient stones. Your guests will be invited to take a complimentary guided tour or follow their feet to explore on their own. The château’s rich history begins in the 8th-century pre-Romanesque chapel.
On the day of your event part of the property is privatized for your wedding party at 13:00h. Our lovely upper garden area is the perfect place for an “inner circle” luncheon. This area has a cool, medieval gazebo, plenty of courtyard seating, space for a buffet, (for 40), and convenient access to the wedding parties' private rooms. The private space within the castle for the wedding party includes a huge bathroom, a kitchen, and a sitting room with a large dining table. There is wifi and a crib area. The pool area is yours for a spectacular photoshoot. It is also an extremely fun place for a pool party the day after. Swimming in the pool next to the vaulting tower with a view of the landscape is a guaranteed precious memory.
Prices start in low season at €2,000HT for an open-air reception from 7 PM-12 PM, (with additional set-up time starting at 1 PM), and accommodate up to 100 people or €3,000HT to add the interior spaces use of the castle. Included is access to private areas on the day of the event for the wedding party and a large commercial kitchen for the caterer. Guest restrooms are located near the prison. The principal exterior reception areas are on the main lawn, in front of the moat, and within the main courtyard, an upper garden courtyard, and on a bridge above the main courtyard with its panoramic view. Bar and buffet stations may be set up within the château as well, and there is plenty of room to have the whole party inside. The couple of honor receives a special price (-20%) for one night in the romantic tower suite with complimentary champagne and breakfast. A château operations manager will act as a liaison with your wedding planner, and for an additional fee, we can provide a lovely aperitif, servers to set up and clean up and pass hor d'oeuvres.
Also included, is an excellent sound system and microphone, tables & chairs, trays, ice buckets, and twinkle lights. We are happy to recommend caterers for food, florists, and photographers, too.
