Ancient Farm Estate

This beautiful venue is an ancient farm nestled in a lovely wooded river valley on the Charente/ Dordogne border. Set in 10 acres of gardens, woods, and meadows, a space ideal for a magical funfilled wedding your guests will remember.

There is a heated pool (14x6m), private fishing lake, an enormous games barn, gym and games galore. There is something for everyone, lots for children of all ages but also quiet corners to escape, woodland walks from the door and nature all around.

A clearing in the wild woods surrounding the property offers a magical back drop to exchange vows . With drinks and canapés in the grounds followed by the wedding banquet under the covered terrace.

We can organise catering from the fully equipped catering kitchen. Various catering options are available using local caterers. We can provide anything from brunch, afternoon tea, 3-course evening meals, and of course the wedding banquet. We pride ourselves on using locally sourced seasonal organic ingredients wherever possible.

Everyone can get-together at the covered communal terrace which is ideal for the main wedding reception but which can also be used for an evening meal/drinks the night before or a bbq/brunch the following day. We also offer a fun pizza party using the restored wood-fired bread oven. With the outside space and communal terrace, there are plenty of options.

Set amongst the beautiful countryside of the Perigord Vert Natural Park surrounded by wild woods, meadows, sunflowers, cornfields, and the river Lizonne meandering through the valley there are loads of great locations for your wedding photography. The wild woods offer dappled shady alleyways and relief from the heat of a summer's day. The courtyard surrounded by the honey-colored stone buildings could host an alfresco dinner dance with a band of your choosing or for a more chilled out evening relax by the fire pit toasting marshmallows and stargazing.

On this ancient farm estate, there are 5 individual properties offering quality accommodation for up to 37 guests. Each property is completely independent and has a fully equipped kitchen, sitting room with TV (English & French), free internet, and private garden, ideal for your family and friends to stay on site. With the additional communal covered terrace, everyone can get together but then retreat to their own space, in their own time.

We are a relaxed informal venue, set in beautiful countryside, where your guests can unwind and enjoy a holiday as well. You can prolong the celebrations with a pre-wedding barbecue or fun pizza party, giving you the opportunity to really chat and catch up with your guests. We can arrange excursions for those that wish, such as a wine tour, onsite wine tasting, go-karting, an archery afternoon, or for the more adventurous a canoeing trip down the river Charente.

Break down of properties:

Property 1 - Sleeps 12 in 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms- 3 doubles with superking beds, 2 rooms with 1 double bed + 1 single bed, and a sixth twin room with 2 single beds
Property 2 - Sleeps 7 in 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms - 1 superking size double room, 1 double room, and third triple room with a super-king and single bed.
Property 3 - Sleeps 5 in 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom - 1 superking size double room and a triple room with 3 single beds.
Property 4 - Sleeps 5 in 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom - 1 superking size double room and a triple room with 3 single beds.
Property 5- Sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms - 1 superking size double room, 2 double rooms and 1 twin room with 2 single beds.

The price of £5500 is based on a 7 night stay in May, June, or September and includes accommodation for 37 people in the 5 properties. Catering not included. For a rough guide: Pizza evening is 17€/head, a 3-course meal from 40€ up to 55€ for the wedding banquet, anything is possible and can be tailored to your budget.
