Meteorite crater in the midst of an organic wine domaine

A truly unique venue set amidst vines in a meteore crater

Description

Set amongst a wild and magical landscape of sunlit rolling mountains, with the scent of wild thyme and mint, celebrate your vows in a 10,000 year old meteorite crater surrounded by rows of ripening grapes in the midst of an organic wine domaine.

This is a truly unique, natural and unforgettable setting.

The ceremony itself can take place overlooking the crater with the mountains behind and incredible panoramic views down to the Mediterranean Sea. Guests will then descend through vines and olive trees to dine within the crater itself. Sitting right next to the vines, and under the stars, your guests will be greeted by the smell of woodsmoke as their food (sourced from local organic producers or grown on the domaine) is prepared by our Michelin trained chef (worked with Gordon Ramsay) on a wood fire using last year's vine prunings.

We have a range of our own organic and highly acclaimed wines to choose from, perfect for toasting the moon and making wishes on shooting stars. This includes our new, exclusive 'method traditionelle’ sparkling wine: Le Cratère. Produced from grapes grown exclusively within the crater, this exceptional pink sparkling wine will fill your glass with stardust, while gazing on the very vines that created it.

Your guests will delight in an evening like no other, dancing under starlight between the vines and sipping wines inspired by our unique astronomical history. No one ever forgets their first dance between the vines in this meteoric location.

Nicholas Lander - Chief Restaurant Critic, Financial Times
"The scene was breathtaking. As the sun was setting just before 8pm, the moon rose to the south-east - rugged nature, the vines, scrubland and, quite soon, some extremely good food and wine."

Location

Occitanie Wedding VenuesOccitanie is a mixture of Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées. Languedoc-Roussillon is known for their Mediterranean cuisine and it stretches from the famous Rhone River to the Spanish border.

This region can offer a great climate with an absolutely stunning coastline. You will also find that Carcassonne is here, and the Canal Du Midi is the perfect place for you to spend your first moments as husband and wife. The other region here is Midi-Pyrénées. This takes its name from The Pyrénées, which is the mountain which runs right through it. It is actually the largest region in France when you look at the size, and the rivers there are phenomenal. This alone makes it a sublime wedding location, so if you want to take some spectacular photos by the river or if you want the best, city-scenic backdrop then this is certainly the right location for you.

Getting there is very easy, and for the coastal properties there are often boat rides available if you wanted to treat your guests to something really special. This is just one of the many reasons why so many people choose this location as their number one wedding destination, and the natural scenery is not to be missed.

Reviews

  • This was an amazing and unique experience from beginning to end. We assembled in the winery, a small group of dinners, for aperitifs (rosé from the domaine) and superb canapés served the the chef Nico and Jacqui. Conversation flowed and we then walked 10 minutes through the vines with views over the plain to the Mediterranean and down to the Meteore crater. The huge crater is said to be formed by a Meteore 10,000 years ago! It has vines growing within it and outdoor tables overlooking the vines. The star of the show was the amazing food prepared by chef Nico. He produced several courses each with it’s own matching glass of wine to accompany it. The food is on a level your would expect in Michelin starred restaurants and not what you might expect in a Meteore crater! As the sun went down and the stars started to twinkle above, conversation flowed and the food just kept coming. It was fun to walk back the way we came with torches provided for a coffee in the caveau before heading home happy and full. Altogether a unique and memorable experience. And amazing value also. Bravo Nico and Jacqui!
