15th century Manor House with riverside terrace and private chapel in the heart of the Charente

Nestled in the heart of the Charente region with it’s wonderful Romanesque architecture, stunning scenery and micro climate – the sunniest outside of the Mediterranean area. Perfectly positioned for visits to the famous Cognac and Bordeaux wine houses and for the more sporting visitors there are wonderful Golf courses and kayaking nearby. With Poitiers and Limoges Airport less than an hour away and 30-mins from Angouleme TGV station, The Manor House is an easily accessible oasis of privacy.


The 15th Century Manor House is set behind a private gated entrance and cloistered within the beautiful courtyard gardens and a walled riverside terrace. Enjoy this privacy while also benefiting from its location in the heart of the Charente; one of the prettiest historical villages in south west France with its famous fairy-tale château and charming village shops,restaurants and bars just two minutes walk from the property.

A unique rental property arranged around the central courtyard with a Romanesque ‘bassin’ pool, picturesque rose gardens and river terrace, The Manor House is an oasis of calm and beauty.

Whether just the use of The Manor House for a short romantic stay or as your wedding venue, we can arrange for everything from catering; floral arrangements; musicians... to whatever you desire! Golf Clubs in the Poitou-Charente region are known for the welcome given to visiting players and holidaymakers and are generally sited in stunning locations throughout the varied landscape of this beautiful region.

The Manor House is a place dedicated to professional events with a large audience or more intimate. You will find modular spaces in various configurations. Six fully equipped meeting rooms can accommodate 10 to 80 people depending on your needs.

The exceptional gardens and the cloister (capacity of 250 places and more) beautifully complement the interior fittings.

There are six stylish ensuite guest rooms with luxurious décor. These charming rooms with sumptuous linens and fabrics are individually designed to create a unique atmosphere sympathetic to the origins of The Manor House while still retaining contemporary home comforts. All overlook the Romanesque pool, gardens and Charente river.

The whole venue and all the rooms is:

  • 8400 euros per week

Or we also do a long weekend outside of July and August for 4 nights for the whole venue and all the rooms 4800 euros. There is also a private chapel which is 1000 euros to hire for the duration of the stay.

Ah, Nouvelle-Aquitaine! Home to Aquitaine, Limousin and Poitou-Charentes. This is quite possibly the ideal wedding destination for any happy couple.

Aquitaine is home to Bordeaux and it is more than possible for you to get married near to the breath-taking Dordogne, or even near the Basque Villages. This is along the Spanish border and there is so much for you to see and do. The hot springs that are in Nouvelle-Aquitaine are not to be missed and this is great if you want to pamper yourself after the big day. Poitou-Charentes is on the Atlantic Coast and the sandy white beaches are culturally stimulating. Famous for its beautiful architecture as well as its incredible food and wine, This region has it all. Castles from yesteryear adorn every hilltop and the region is a must for anyone who enjoys their food. Local specilaities include truffles, foie gras, prunes and of course wine.

Of course, you also have the Marias Poitevan wetlands, and this is not to be missed either. You can get to this area via train and flights also run to this area as well. This is easily one of the most beautiful areas in the whole of France and the activities there include horse riding, wine-tasting and relaxing on some of the sandy shores. The region features many destinations with cultural and touristic significance locations like the Citadel of Blaye, Saint-Emilion, La Rochelle, Aquarium, Arcachon and the Dune du Pilat. All of these areas have a rich historical background that could be considered when choosing wedding venues in the region. Nothing can quite compare to the experience you will get when you visit this location, and it is one of the best places for you to say those special words, “I Do!”.
